Caregiver Dashboard
Message from the Founder
I started this project out of personal need. I, like many of Gen X, find myself having to take care of a generation on either side of me. My dad was diagnosed with dementia in 2024. My siblings and I are taking turns taking care of him. We live in different states and he spends a few months with each of us. We found it extremely challenging to keep up with his care information like medications dosing schedules, doctor appointments and consultations, Sr. Citizen Center class schedules etc… My dad is a veteran, coordination has to happen with, not only his personal insurance and doctors, but with the Veterans Administration as well. Communicating the right information to the right person was extremely difficult and growing more so as his condition deteriorates. Consultations with memory care specialists expanded our tracking to other quality of life areas and care like hydration, food intake, weight and overall mood. The additional tracking allowed us to establish a baseline and trends and provide early warning when a significant change occurs. We needed a way to keep all the information accessible in one place to the entire care team. Caregiver Dashboard was the solution I created. Evolving out the need for a simple medication dosing tracking tool, my initial vision grew as I got further along with development. I talked to a lot of people; elderly and special needs caregivers, therapists and specialists in food, orthopedics, vision, mobility and more. I envisioned helping more people, more families and so I opened the design for additional use cases with the implementation of Tiers 2 and 3.
I have spent the last 25 years in corporate IT implementing and supporting validated systems. These systems manage personal health data and are regulated by governments across the world. I have taken these years of experience and knowledge and applied them to this passion project. As a passion project, I bootstrapped it myself, starting with a mild interest in the possibilities to being fully committed to a solution. I plan to continue improving and provide more functionality in the future and I invite you to share this journey with us. With my own family using Caregiver Dashboard, I have a personal responsibility to deliver value and ensure our data is safe as well as a professional responsibility to the community. If you are here, my heart and sympathies are with you as you tend to those in your care. Know that you are not alone and I hope that you find coordinating care just a little easier with Caregiver Dashboard.
Sincerely,
Richard Jenkins
